The context
Healthcare runs on claims and records. In a Medicare-style ecosystem, a care provider has to register patients, verify eligibility, capture clinical information, submit claims against a benefits schedule, and keep records straight — usually across fragmented, manual tools. CaringCo set out to deliver care digitally, and SimpliClaim was the product that made the operational side of that work.
The problem
Patient intake was slow and repetitive, eating clinical time before care even began. Operational data — infection-control and medication KPIs — lived in spreadsheets that were hard to monitor in real time. The team needed an experience that sped up intake and gave staff a clear, live view of what mattered.
What I designed
- Streamlined patient intake. Reworked registration and eligibility steps to cut repetition and capture the right information once — reducing processing time per patient by 19%.
- Claiming workflows. Designed clear flows for submitting and tracking claims against the benefits schedule, so staff could see status at a glance instead of chasing it.
- Operational dashboards. Built 8 dashboards tracking infection-control and medication KPIs, turning scattered spreadsheets into live monitoring for clinical and ops teams.
- A digital care-delivery model. Partnered with clinical leadership to shape how care was delivered digitally — expanding patient access and supporting lower readmission rates.
Approach
Healthcare workflows are unforgiving — every step carries clinical and compliance weight. I worked hand-in-hand with clinical leadership to map the real intake and claiming journeys, then simplified without cutting corners, designing for accuracy and speed under real operational pressure. Delivered ahead of schedule.
